Easy chair, model Konsert, by Carl Malmsten for Stockholm Concert Hall, 1923

Very rare and important easy chair designed by the grandfather of Swedish design, Carl Malmsten, for Stockholms Konserthus (Stockholm Concert Hall) in 1923. An early piece in his production. The concert hall was designed by Swedish architect Ivar Tengbom and was inaugurated in 1926. This particular chair was part of the original interior of the concert hall. Most likely reupholstered at a later stage in red velvet according to the original fabric. Legs made of stained birch. It is preserved in an exceptional good condition with very light ware with age taken into account.
